Victor A. Koehler, D.M.D.
After practicing dentistry for 29 years in Lithonia, Georgia, Dr. Vic Koehler has opened Creekside Family Dentistry -- a truly state of the art facility in Loganville, Georgia. "This has always been a dream of mine, and instead of buying a house at the beach or mountains like some of my friends have done, I would much rather share with my patients the fruits of 28 years of a successful practice by building Creekside Dentistry."
Dr. Koehler received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Georgia and his D.M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. With his special interest in cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Koehler is an active member in the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society and a sustaining member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. With today's rapidly changing technology, Dr. Koehler places an emphasis on continuing education and attends at least 45 hours of continuing education each year (over twice the required amount).
Other interests include golf and most other sports, traveling, history, and active participation and chairing various committees at Snellville Methodist Church where he has been a member for 15 years. Dr. Koehler and his wife of 30 years, Beth, have one daughter, Meredith, who is now in orthodontic residency at Medical College of Georgia
Brittany Thome, D.M.D.Brittany Thome, D.M.D. (rhymes with home) grew up in the Snellville area and attended Providence Christian Academy. She then went on to Furman University and received her D.M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia. During her four years in dental school, she served as president of her class every year and received the Senior Class Leadership Award. Since graduating two years ago, Dr. Thome has practiced in Greenville, South Carolina, and recently moved back to Loganville to be closer to family. She has been inducted into the prestigious Hinman Dental Society, is the Legislative Chair for the Academy of General Dentistry, and will be traveling to Washington D.C. in that capacity. She also is presently pursuing her Masters in Business from Harvard University through online courses. In her free time, she
enjoys spending time with family, riding horses and running.
Mitzi Davis - Hygienist
Mitzi Davis returned to school after working in the dental field for more than eight years. She graduated with honors in 2003 from Georgia Perimeter College, receiving several coveted awards along with her Dental Hygiene degree. Since that time she has worked for Dr. Koehler in the Lithonia office. She is pleased to be working for a dentist that believes in a high quality of care for his patients. Her goal is to provide the best possible preventative care for everyone with regard to their needs and financial situation. But her real talent lies in the area of education. She takes the time to explain every dental procedure in such a manner that patients understand why something is needed, what the procedure entails, and how it impacts the future of their dental health.
Mitzi is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and the Beta Beta Nu chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha (the Dental Hygiene Honor Society). She has served in various capacities and is currently president of the Beta Beta Nu chapter. She maintains more than the required continuing education courses pertaining to dental hygiene as well as other areas of dentistry and health care in general.
She is happy to be a part of Dr. Koehler's team in this new and beautiful office. She looks forward to serving the Loganville and neighboring communities since she has many friends and family that live there. Mitzi and her husband Neil are very active with many interests including their two grown daughters.
Cyndi Simmons - Office Manager
With over 20 years in the dental office, working for 14 years of those as Dr. Koehler's lead dental assistant in the Lithonia office, Cyndi Simmons is now at the front desk to serve patient needs as the office manager for Creekside Dentistry. Her working knowledge of all dental procedures will be an invaluable asset when answering your questions regarding dental materials used and the expected results for every procedure done in our office. Cyndi will assist you with filing your insurance claims, as well as managing any financial concerns. In addition to the extensive dental knowledge that Cyndi brings, her computer skills and pleasant personality will add to the gentle and efficient treatment of our patients.
Cyndi's interests outside the office include family time with her husband, Allen, and their four children, active involvement at St. Pius X Catholic Church, and she is
presently pursing a BS degree, to Business Communications
online through Phoenix University.
Julie Toney - Dental Assistant
Julie brings 11 years of experience to the dental field. She has vast knowledge of the latest dental procedures, with a strong background in pediatric dentistry. As a Loganville resident, she is looking forward to serving the local community.
Julie attended Georgia Southern University and Georgia Perimeter College,and has received extensive training in the dental industry. She has received certificates of expanded duties assisting, both chair-side and orthodontic. Julie also places a strong emphasis on continuing education and regularly attends classes and training, including the latest OSHA regulations and infection control practices.
Julie feels her outgoing personality, strong work ethic and genuine concern for the quality care and comfort of the patients will be a great asset to Dr. Koehler's practice.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her husband, Ricky, their three daughters and four grandchildren.
Wendy Spivey - Registered Dental Hygienist
Wendy Spivey is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has worked with Dr. Koehler in the Lithonia office since 2005. She was born and raised in Conyers, Georgia. Wendy obtained her dental hygiene degree from Gulf Coast Community College, Florida in 1998, after which she received the fourth highest grade in the nation on the Dental Hygiene National Board. Shortly after graduation, she moved back home to Georgia to practice dental hygiene. Wendy has 10 years experience in the thorough treatment and prevention of periodontal disease. Wendy prides herself on her commitment to quality patient care, strong work ethic, and gentle touch. She enjoys expanding her dental knowledge by taking many continuing education courses on the most up-to-date dental care practices.
Wendy's other interests outside of the office include caring for her one and a half year old son, Brandt, and spending time with her family. She is an avid pet lover and enjoys playing fetch with her 3 dogs. Her free time is spent on many different art projects including watercolor painting and scrap booking family photos.
Kim Bishop
After spending years in the mortgage and lending business, Kim brought her positive "Can Do" attitude to Dr. Koehler's exceptional practice and staff. From the first time she met Dr. Koehler and his staff, she knew this was a special place and wanted to play a role in their community mission. Her infectious smile and calming demeanor greets new and returning patients symbolizing Creekside Dentistry's commitment to quality patient care and treatment. Her work ethic, attention to detail, office and financial management skills are an asset and compliment the other staff. She looks forward to the continued education in cosmetic dentistry and to supporting the professional staff that collectively are Creekside Dentistry.
Besides spending time with her husband, Rich, and their three children, Kim is an active member in the Grayson community. She is on the Alter Guild for her church and can be found quite often helping out at Pharr Elementary or at Bay Creek Park in Grayson supporting her son's baseball team. When she is at home, Kim relaxes by working on creative arts and craft projects. She enjoys sewing, cross stitching, knitting, crocheting and embroidery.
Barbara Osgood - Registered Dental Hygienist
Barbara Osgood is a registered dental hygienist who has been practicing for three years. She graduated with honors from the Georgia Perimeter College. She is one of the newest members of the team and is thrilled to be working with such a talented group of professionals.
Barbara enjoys playing an integral role assisting patients in achieving and maintaining optimal oral health. She is extremely considerate of her patient's individual needs and concerns. She is also dedicated to keeping up with the latest technology, as well as her continuing education.
Barbara is a Georgia native and currently lives in Loganville with her family. She has been married for six years to her husband, Kurt. They have two young boys -- Koby, who is five and Aden, who is two. Barbara is an active member of her community and loves to run, swim and watch her son play t-ball.
Regina Bridwell - Dental Assistant
With 22 years in dentistry, Gina joins our team with an array of dental experience. She received her Dental Assistant National Board Certification in 1987 as well as her radiology license and expanded functions certification. She continues to maintain her certification with continuing education courses relating to all aspects of dentistry. In 1999, she graduated from the University of Maryland, Asian Division with an Associates of Arts in Business Management while being stationed with her husband in Okinawa Japan. She has had the opportunity to work alongside some of dentistry's finest dentist while living in Miami Florida, Jacksonville, North Carolina, Okinawa, Japan, San Clemente, California and here in Loganville @ Creekside Dentistry.
Gina has a strong TEAM player personality and is willing to go the extra mile for all patients and staff members. Her enthusiasm to share her past dental experiences is a positive aspect to our patients and team. She looks forward to supporting Drs' Koehler and Dillard with all new and returning patients during treatment.
Originally from Homestead, Florida, Gina relocated to Loganville in 2005, a year prior to her husband's retirement from the U.S. Marine Corps. Chad and Gina have been married 18 years and together have two children Chase and Amanda. Together the family enjoys traveling to different places and takes advantage of spending quality family time every chance they get. In her spare time, Gina is involved with the Loganville Football Touchdown club. You can also find her during the evenings taxiing around her son and daughter to their activity of choice or to hang with friends. Gina enjoys cooking, music and being in the outdoors.
